Continuing Medical Education (CME) is the mechanism for the life long learning requirement for every healthcare professional. PACE offers CME that is inherent to good medical practice but is unique in content. Our objective is "CME that matters". Our offerings are focused and interactive in line with effective adult learning principles that lead to behavior change. All courses have proven track records with statistically significant improvement in knowledge acquisition.

- Effective March 18, 2020 until further notice, all UCSD PACE Program CME courses have been moved online. Once you have enrolled in a course (or courses), you will be contacted by a PACE representative with additional information on how to participate in your course(s).
CME Frequently Asked Questions
- All courses have a limited number of space. This is to ensure that proper instruction is received by all for each course. Therefore, the only way to reserve a space in that course date is to complete and application and make full payment for the course.
- Yes, your registration confirmation email will detail any documents or assignments required before the course begins, along with their due dates. The Professional Boundaries course also requires a brief telephone screening before the course to ensure it is a good fit for the participant.
- Our virtual CME courses are conducted live over Zoom and require active participation by each attendee. Participants must have their cameras on at all times, attend each session, participate in the discussion, and pass tests on the material presented. PACE staff contact a participant in real time if they are not paying full attention and participating. Our Managing High Impact Emotions, Professional Boundaries, and Ethics courses also have required assignments each night between sessions.
- All PACE CME courses are approved by the Medical Board of California, and each course’s description includes the number of AMA credits it is eligible for. Our courses have also been accepted by many other state medical boards. In some cases, we can add credit hours or components to satisfy specific requirements.
